Our Story
Where it all began
Sweet Pea Coffee Shop is the latest chapter in a long-standing love for home baking and community. Nestled in the heart of Warrenpoint on Duke Street, we serve up homemade cakes, brunch, lunch, and great coffee, all with a cosy, vintage-shop vibe that makes you feel right at home.
This isn’t Nuala’s first rodeo however, she previously ran Sweet Pea Café for 12 wonderful years at another spot in town, becoming a local favourite. When that chapter ended in 2022, she wasn’t ready to step away from her passion. So, in 2025, Sweet Pea Coffee Shop was born with a fresh start and a rebrand.
Smaller and simpler, the name lives on, not only because of the memories tied to the original Sweet Pea but also because 'Sweet Pea' was Nuala’s dad’s favourite flower, which inspired the name.
Everything at Sweet Pea Coffee Shop reflects the passion and care our team brings, and what really sets us apart is that all our desserts and wheaten breads are made from traditional, generational recipes, giving every treat that homely, nostalgic taste.
